In 1995, The Day the Earth Stood Still was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant," and for most aficionados of the genre, it's considered the forerunner of all the 1950s sci-fi films that followed. Director Robert Wise's masterpiece deals with man's paranoia and aggression towards things he doesn't understand. This popular, eye-catching insert features the mighty Gort unleashing his laser-like death ray. 
 
This rare poster has not been restored. It will be shipped flat so as not to damage the poster by trying to fold it. This poster may show signs of wear such as pin holes, fold wear, minor foxing, surface scuffs or stains, fading, foxing, creasing, etc. There is a tear at the bottom center with no paper loss.
